Alex Russo is back! It was just announced that Selena Gomez will pick up her wand and step back into her ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ role!
Even though the Emmy-winning series ended in January 2012, the whole gang (including Jake T. Austin, David Henrie, Gregg Sulkin, and Jennifer Stone) will be back in action for an hour-long Disney Channel special set to air in early 2013.
The new special — which Selena Gomez is also executive producing — will reunite the whole family in Tuscany, Italy, where they go to meet some long-lost relatives. When Alex tries to prove that she’s more than just a carefree young Wizard, she accidently conjures a spell that creates both a Good Alex and an Evil Alex! When Evil Alex gets rout of control, Good Alex must find a way to save her family and the world — all ending in an epic battle on top of the leaning Tower of Pisa!
